HINTS FOR TEMPLATE MAKERSMake your own templates howto: here Here are
some useful hint, courtesy PeterM, adapted by S@S:
1. Test your
template with every module within S@S. Make notes of what works and
what doesn't. Get it working. 2. Test your template with different
browsers. At least IE, Mozilla and Firefox. Your template should
look almost the same in all browsers. 3. Keep in mind, the template
should be used on a primary school. That means, the content of the
site is important. 4. Make sure your template, or the one you based
your template on, is GNU/GPL-licensed. Eventually ask authors for
permission to use their template. Whjen it is for educational purposes,
most authors happily agree (they have children). 5. Use HTML-Tidy to
clean up your templates HTML-CODE: Use HTML-Tidy This way your code is
more readable. 6. Use the validator at w3.org to take a look at your
code: Validator This is
especially important when there is a statement in your template
and you at code to it later. It may no longer validate.
